What sort of portraits do you do?
Whether ‘makeover’, family, engagement, children or pets, we will create vibrant images that you and your family will enjoy for years.
Can I find out more?
Firstly contact us to discuss what you would like. We'll need to find out who will be included and what the images are to be used for (wall-hanging, presents etc).
We will then arrange the sitting at a convenient time for you.
The shoot itself will take around an hour. We then arrange a viewing session where you visit us again to view your images.
What should we wear for a portrait sitting?
The selection of clothing is a critical factor in preparation for a successful portrait. If clothing is noticeable in a portrait, it could easily become a distraction. Clothing that does not attract attention to itself is the ultimate goal.
Advisable clothes include:
Clothing for group portraits should be carefully selected to blend the bodies together. First, decide whether the basic tone of the clothing will be warm-toned (browns etc) or cool tones (blues/greys/blacks etc).
Groups should also be dressed in the same style (e.g. casual or formal)
Darker tones like blue, rust, burgundy & green, give a slimming effect.
Plain & simple design is preferable.
Long sleeved garments are preferable.
Full-length portraits are often included so shoes are important too.
Clothing below the waistline should be darker than above.
Clothes to avoid include those with strong patterns (like stripes or checks) or bright colours. Also avoid flesh tones as they will create visual confusion. Very light clothes below the waistline are best avoided (e.g. white socks).
