What is the Barrett and Coe Guarantee of Quality?
A standard of excellence must be achieved by each Member of the Barrett & Coe Photographers Network. They must:
•Achieve a high level of photographic competence before qualification as a Barrett & Coe Photographer.
•Abide by procedures and requirements for customer service and etiquette as set out by Barrett & Coe.
•Ensure that products supplied by them to their clients have been quality-checked and quality-maintained by Barrett & Coe.
•Attend regular training days to keep up to date with the latest trends and developments in social photography.
•Be Members of either The Master Photographers Association (MPA) or The British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP).
Which photographic styles do you offer for weddings?
Usually a combination of candid, reportage and classic styles works best but the mix is up to you. Most couples also enjoy having a record of all the important details in their wedding accessories.
We will meet before your wedding to discuss in detail what you’d like. Then we’ll put everything in writing so we both have a record of exactly what has been agreed.
Colour or black and white?
All images will be taken in colour. You will then have the choice of having any of the images in colour, black & white or sepia.
How do we view our wedding pictures?
You, and your friends and family, will be able to view and purchase photographs through this website. The album will remain live for one year. (The online albums are not normally password protected but can be if you prefer).
If we wish, would you send a print of our wedding to a local newspaper of our choice?
Yes - free of charge.
What happens photography-wise if it rains on the Big Day?
We’ll get great pictures whatever the weather. We carry a portable studio to all weddings and will set up your pictures in-doors whenever necessary (providing that a suitable space is available). We’ll also bring plenty of umbrellas to ensure that rain will not prevent you from having fabulous images.
How much time should I allow for photographs?
From our experience, the following rules of thumb can help you plan your wedding day so that you have plenty of time to enjoy your guests and get the photographs you’d like without feeling rushed.
•The Groom needs to be at ceremony venue 45 minutes before the ceremony starts, for photographs and then to welcome guests.
•A 30 minute ceremony can easily last an hour, taking into account the bride being slightly late, the signing of the register and everyone moving outside.
•Group pictures at the ceremony venue (or the reception venue before drinks are served) will take 3 minutes per group. Once drinks are served thay can average 10 minutes per group (so plan to get them done early).
•A receiving line for a wedding breakfast will take 30 seconds per guest (with 100 guests you need to set aside 50 minutes).
What if my photographer is ill?
There are around 60 photographers in the Barrett and Coe network so in the unlikely event of illness a qualified replacement photographer will take over.
Will our wedding images be safe in the future?
All our digital files are archived in two locations; at our office in Kingston Upon Thames and the Barrett & Coe office in Norwich. If you require re-prints at any time in the future you just need to get in touch.
Are you insured?
We are covered by Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.
Are there any additional expenses to pay?
There is no charge for travel up to 5 miles from Kingston Upon Thames. Beyond this there is a fixed scale of charges. For any overnight accommodation that is required we’ll discuss expenses with you prior to your day. If we are staying on through your wedding breakfast you don’t usually need to cater for us as we’ll provide our own food.
What equipment do you use?
Professional digital SLR cameras (35mm) with first class lenses. We bring along two of everything - just in case.
What happens after our wedding?
Three weeks after the wedding I will be in touch to arrange a convenient time to hand over your Presentation Preview Album. I will be able to talk you through exactly how you order your album and prints. Your images will also go online around this time and I will email you with the relevant instructions.
You complete your album and print order at your leisure and our professional lab and finishing studio will do the rest.
How much do you charge?
It can be anything from £375 upwards - it really depends on what you're looking for and the type of wedding you're having. Our fees depend on the amount of time we are in attendance and the type of album that you would like. We need to meet up to discuss your requirements in detail so I can give you a range of options that would suit you.
